Chennai MTC Scraps Tenders For 1,000 AC E-Buses, 220 Metro Feeder Buses

MTC has cancelled tenders for the procurement of 1,000 air-conditioned electric buses and 220 small buses intended for Metro feeder services. Administrative reasons were cited for the e-bus tender cancellation, while a lack of bidders led to the scrapping of the feeder bus tender. The DMK government had allocated Rs 500 crore for the 1,000 buses in the recent budget. The fate of a separate tender for 300 non-AC small buses remains uncertain.

एमटीसी ने 1,000 वातानुकूलित इलेक्ट्रिक बसों और मेट्रो फीडर सेवाओं के लिए 220 छोटी बसों की खरीद के लिए टेंडर रद्द कर दिए हैं। ई-बस टेंडर रद्द करने के प्रशासनिक कारण बताए गए, जबकि फीडर बस टेंडर के लिए बोलीदाताओं की कमी के कारण उसे रद्द कर दिया गया। डीएमके सरकार ने हाल के बजट में 1,000 बसों के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए थे। 300 गैर-एसी छोटी बसों के लिए एक अलग टेंडर का भविष्य अनिश्चित बना हुआ है।
