Lovely Professional University (LPU) founder and BJP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal has alleged that recent violent protests on campus were part of a 'highly organised conspiracy' to destabilise Punjab. He stated that false rumours about a student's rape and death, circulated on Reddit, triggered the unrest, though initial inquiries found no such incident occurred. Mittal noted a similar event at Chitkara University preceded the LPU protests, suggesting a coordinated effort.

के संस्थापक और बीजेपी सांसद अशोक कुमार मित्तल ने आरोप लगाया है कि कैंपस में हालिया हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शन पंजाब को अस्थिर करने के लिए एक 'अत्यधिक संगठित साजिश' का हिस्सा थे। उन्होंने कहा कि Reddit पर फैलाई गई एक छात्र के बलात्कार और मौत की झूठी अफवाहों ने अशांति को भड़काया, हालांकि शुरुआती जांच में ऐसी किसी घटना का पता नहीं चला। मित्तल ने बताया कि LPU विरोध से पहले Chitkara University में भी ऐसी ही एक घटना हुई थी, जो एक समन्वित प्रयास का सुझाव देती है।
