Odisha Commission Orders Statewide Inspection of Child Hostels Amid Abuse Allegations

The Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) has ordered a statewide inspection of all hostels and residential facilities housing children under 18. This directive follows allegations of sexual abuse and concerns over poor living conditions. District collectors are tasked with verifying licenses, registrations, and statutory approvals for both government and private establishments. The inspection will also review compliance with the Juvenile Justice Act and address complaints of abuse, neglect, and other rights violations. Institutions found operating without proper authorization will face legal action, including potential closure.

ओडिशा में बाल छात्रावासों का होगा निरीक्षण यौन शोषण के आरोपों के बाद आयोग का आदेश

ओडिशा राज्य बाल अधिकार संरक्षण आयोग (OSCPCR) ने 18 साल से कम उम्र के बच्चों के लिए बने सभी छात्रावासों और आवासीय सुविधाओं का पूरे राज्य में निरीक्षण करने का आदेश दिया है। यह निर्देश यौन शोषण के आरोपों और खराब जीवन स्थितियों की चिंताओं के बाद आया है। जिलाधिकारियों को सरकारी और निजी दोनों संस्थानों के लिए लाइसेंस, पंजीकरण और वैधानिक अनुमोदन को सत्यापित करने का काम सौंपा गया है। निरीक्षण में Juvenile Justice Act के अनुपालन की भी समीक्षा की जाएगी और दुर्व्यवहार, उपेक्षा और अन्य अधिकारों के उल्लंघन की शिकायतों का समाधान किया जाएगा। उचित प्राधिकरण के बिना संचालित पाए जाने वाले संस्थानों पर कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी, जिसमें संभावित रूप से बंद करना भी शामिल है।
