Massive Fire Erupts at HPCL Refinery in Visakhapatnam; No Casualties Reported

A major fire broke out late night at the HPCL refinery in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The blaze originated in a pitch tower of the newly constructed RUF, which processes heavy vacuum residue oil. A loud explosion was heard before flames and a large plume of smoke rose into the sky, causing temporary panic in nearby residential areas.

आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापत्तनम में HPCL रिफाइनरी में देर रात भीषण आग लग गई। यह आग नए बने RUF के पिच टॉवर में लगी, जो हैवी वैक्यूम रेसिड्यू ऑयल को प्रोसेस करता है। आग लगने से पहले एक ज़ोरदार धमाका सुनाई दिया, जिसके बाद आसमान में आग की लपटें और धुएं का गुबार उठने लगा, जिससे आसपास के रिहायशी इलाकों में कुछ देर के लिए दहशत फैल गई।
