Nasscom Urges Finance Ministry To Defer New GST Rules For Ecommerce Deliveries

Industry body Nasscom has requested the finance ministry to postpone the implementation of revised GST rules for ecommerce delivery services until January 2027. The organization seeks adequate transition time for marketplaces to update their technology, accounting, and compliance systems. Nasscom also called for consultations with affected businesses and logistics providers. The new norms, effective November 1, introduce a 5% GST rate without input tax credit for specified services, requiring significant adjustments across the ecommerce and logistics ecosystem.
