India has officially named and mapped 28 locations and natural features in Ladakh, directly countering China's attempts to claim Indian territories by renaming them. The Ministry of Home Affairs has released these official names, which are now recorded on Survey of India maps. This move aims to establish clear identification and increase public awareness of these places. Previously, India had standardized names for 27 locations in Arunachal Pradesh. China has consistently used its own Mandarin names for areas in Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, asserting them as part of Tibet.
