The Vinayaka Sagar water body in Tirupati has undergone a cleanliness drive following the recent Vinayaka Chaturthi immersion ceremony. The government selected the tank for the 'Swachchatha hi Seva - 2026' initiative due to the significant accumulation of idols, particularly those made of Plaster of Paris and painted with chemical substances. Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu inaugurated the event, emphasizing citizen responsibility for a 'Swacchh Tirupati'. The Municipal Corporation Commissioner urged public participation in the month-long Shramdan movement across all fifty divisions.
