Bengaluru Drives Karnataka's Electric Vehicle Shift

In August, approximately 17.5% of new vehicles registered in Bengaluru were electric, meaning one in every six. The city accounted for half of Karnataka's total EV registrations during the month, with electric two-wheelers making up the majority. Bengaluru's EV fleet now exceeds 4.9 lakh vehicles, representing about 56% of the state's total. Despite this surge, EVs still constitute a small fraction, around 3.8%, of Bengaluru's overall vehicle population.
