DW World · world

Romanian F-16 fighter jets successfully shot down two drones that had illegally entered the country's territorial waters over the Black Sea. The Defense Ministry confirmed the engagement, with the first drone downed shortly after entering airspace at 17:59 and the second at 18:05. While the origin of the drones remains unknown, this incident follows recent drone attacks on chemical tankers near Romania's coast. NATO is set to discuss the issue, with these incursions believed to be linked to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
