US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that rising bond yields are attributable to "global issues." His remarks came as US 10-year Treasury yields reached their highest point since 2007. Bessent made these comments to reporters before a congressional hearing. The hearing, focused on the international finance system, also addressed financial measures against Iran. Bessent indicated ongoing discussions with China regarding Iranian financial links, with further talks planned with Xi Jinping.
