2.37 Crore Young Electors Added To Voter List

Election Commission officials stated that 2.37 crore new electors in the 18-28 age group have been added to the voter list across India since June 24, 2025. This addition follows a Special Intensive Revision exercise that began in Bihar last June. The process now requires new voters to provide details of their parents along with Form 6 for registration. This change has faced objections from Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, who deemed it "illegal" and potentially detrimental to new voter enrollment.

चुनाव आयोग के अधिकारियों ने बताया कि 24 जून 2025 से अब तक पूरे भारत में 18-28 साल के 2.37 करोड़ नए मतदाता वोटर लिस्ट में जोड़े गए हैं। यह बिहार में पिछले जून में शुरू हुए स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन के बाद हुआ है। अब नए मतदाताओं को फॉर्म 6 के साथ अपने माता-पिता का विवरण देना होगा। चुनाव आयुक्त सुखबीर सिंह संधू और विवेक जोशी ने इस बदलाव पर आपत्ति जताई है, इसे "अवैध" बताया है।
