Gauhati HC Grants Bail to Zubeen Garg's Bandmate in Murder Trial

The Gauhati High Court has granted bail to Amritprava Mahanta, a band member of the late singer-composer Zubeen Garg, in connection with his murder trial. Mahanta, arrested on October 3 last year, is one of seven accused in the case. Her lawyer stated the prosecution lacked concrete evidence, asserting her innocence. The court set a bail bond of ₹50,000 with specific conditions, including passport submission. Mahanta is currently lodged at Haflong Jail. The investigation into Garg's death, which occurred in Singapore last September, concluded it was a planned conspiracy.

गौहाटी हाईकोर्ट ने दिवंगत गायक-संगीतकार ज़ुबिन गर्ग के बैंड की सदस्य अमृतप्रभा महंत को हत्या के मुकदमे के संबंध में जमानत दे दी है। पिछले साल 3 अक्टूबर को गिरफ्तार महंत, मामले में सात आरोपियों में से एक हैं। उनके वकील ने कहा कि अभियोजन के पास ठोस सबूतों की कमी थी, और उन्होंने महंत की बेगुनाही का दावा किया। अदालत ने ₹50,000 का जमानत बांड तय किया, जिसमें पासपोर्ट जमा कराने जैसी कुछ शर्तें भी शामिल थीं। महंत फिलहाल हाफलॉन्ग जेल में बंद हैं। पिछले सितंबर में सिंगापुर में हुई गर्ग की मौत की जांच में इसे एक सोची-समझी साजिश बताया गया था।
