Kanshi Ram's Family Lives Simply in Punjab, Never Joined Politics

Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram, who advocated for the rights of the oppressed, kept his own family away from politics. Born in Punjab's Ropar district in 1934, his family, including his sister Swaran Kaur and nephew Lakhbir Singh, continues to live a simple life in the same region. Despite his advocacy for social change, no family member ever joined the BSP or entered electoral politics. Kanshi Ram himself never married and dedicated his life to the Bahujan movement, reportedly distancing himself from his family to avoid nepotism accusations.

बहुजन समाज पार्टी के संस्थापक कांशी राम, जिन्होंने दलितों के हक़ों की बात की, उन्होंने अपने परिवार को राजनीति से दूर रखा। पंजाब के रोपड़ जिले में 1934 में जन्मे, उनका परिवार, जिसमें उनकी बहन स्वर्ण कौर और भतीजे लखबीर सिंह शामिल हैं, उसी इलाके में सादा जीवन जी रहा है। सामाजिक बदलाव की वकालत के बावजूद, परिवार का कोई भी सदस्य कभी BSP में शामिल नहीं हुआ या चुनावी राजनीति में नहीं आया। कांशी राम ने खुद शादी नहीं की और अपना जीवन बहुजन आंदोलन को समर्पित कर दिया, कथित तौर पर भाई-भतीजावाद के आरोपों से बचने के लिए उन्होंने अपने परिवार से दूरी बना ली थी।
