Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has alleged that the ECI is losing its independence and is functioning under the directives of the central BJP government. Addressing party workers, he claimed the SIR process is being used to disenfranchise eligible citizens. Vikramarka highlighted concerns raised by two Election Commissioners about the Chief Election Commissioner not considering their views. He stressed that the ECI, as a constitutional body, must operate independently to safeguard democracy and voting rights for all eligible citizens.
