Gujarat HC Orders Police Protection For Interfaith Couple Facing Threats

The Gujarat High Court has ordered the Panchmahal district superintendent of police to provide protection to an interfaith couple and their relatives. The couple, who registered their marriage on July 2, 2025, had been threatened and forced to separate by the woman's family after their marriage became known. They have been on the run since and approached the high court after failing to secure police support. The court directed the SP to ensure their whereabouts remain confidential and to shift them to a safe house if necessary.

गुजरात हाईकोर्ट ने पंचमहल जिले के पुलिस अधीक्षक को एक अंतरधार्मिक जोड़े और उनके रिश्तेदारों को सुरक्षा प्रदान करने का आदेश दिया है। जोड़े ने 2 जुलाई, 2025 को अपनी शादी पंजीकृत कराई थी, लेकिन शादी की जानकारी होने पर महिला के परिवार ने उन्हें धमकी दी और अलग होने के लिए मजबूर किया। वे तब से भाग रहे थे और पुलिस सहायता न मिलने पर हाईकोर्ट पहुंचे थे। अदालत ने एसपी को उनके ठिकाने को गोपनीय रखने और यदि आवश्यक हो तो उन्हें सुरक्षित स्थान पर स्थानांतरित करने का निर्देश दिया है।
