Global PC Shipments Plummet 22.4% Amidst High Prices
Hindustan Times · business
Global PC shipments experienced a significant decline of 22.4% in the third quarter of 2026, totaling 55.4 million units, according to Gartner. This marks the second consecutive quarterly drop, driven primarily by higher prices for memory and storage components, which reduced the availability of affordable devices. Businesses are also shifting spending towards specialized hardware like workstations and AI PCs instead of broad deployments. Research firm IDC reported a similar 20.1% year-over-year fall in shipments for the same period.
