Oman Pitches New Port For India Access

Oman has proposed investment in a new port to India, offering uninterrupted access to Gulf energy amid Strait of Hormuz tensions. Representatives from Sohar Port highlighted its strategic location on the Omani coast, away from the Strait, allowing access to Gulf hubs. The port has already attracted over $30 billion in investments and can handle 72 million tonnes of cargo annually. This initiative aims to deepen India-Oman economic ties and strengthen value chains.
