VOC Port Welcomes Largest Ever Container Vessel

VO Chidambaranar Port in Tuticorin has set a new record by docking its longest-ever container ship, the 335.23-metre MV CMA CGM THORIUM. This vessel surpasses the previous record of 304 metres set in December 2025. The ship arrived with a draft of 13.5 metres from Santos, Brazil, and is scheduled to handle 3,276 TEUs. These advancements are a result of ongoing marine infrastructure and navigational improvements at the port.

तूतीकोरिन के वी.ओ. चिदंबरनार पोर्ट ने एक नया रिकॉर्ड बनाया है। यहाँ 335.23 मीटर लंबा कंटेनर जहाज, एमवी सीएमए सीएमजी थोरियम, डॉक किया गया है। यह अब तक का सबसे लंबा जहाज है। इसने दिसंबर 2025 में बने 304 मीटर के पिछले रिकॉर्ड को तोड़ा है। यह जहाज ब्राजील के सैंटोस से 13.5 मीटर ड्राफ्ट के साथ आया है और 3,276 टीईयू को संभालेगा। यह सब पोर्ट के समुद्री ढांचे और नेविगेशन में सुधार के कारण संभव हुआ है।
