Odisha Flood Situation Eases As Mahanadi Water Levels

Odisha's flood situation improved on Tuesday as water levels in the Mahanadi river began to recede following the closure of eight sluice gates at the Hirakud reservoir. Inflows from Chhattisgarh also decreased, alleviating major flood threats across the state's key river basins. Water levels in major reservoirs and downstream monitoring stations remained under control, with most rivers flowing within safe limits. While many areas are recovering, some low-lying regions in Cuttack, Puri, and Jagatsinghpur districts remain affected, with several villages still cut off.

मंगलवार को ओडिशा में बाढ़ की स्थिति में सुधार हुआ क्योंकि हीराकुड जलाशय के आठ फाटकों को बंद करने के बाद महानदी नदी में जलस्तर घटने लगा। छत्तीसगढ़ से पानी की आवक भी कम हो गई, जिससे राज्य के प्रमुख नदी बेसिनों में बाढ़ का बड़ा खतरा टल गया। प्रमुख जलाशयों और निचले इलाकों में निगरानी स्टेशनों में जलस्तर नियंत्रण में रहा, और अधिकांश नदियाँ सुरक्षित सीमा के भीतर बह रही थीं। हालाँकि कई इलाके ठीक हो रहे हैं, कटक, पुरी और जगतसिंहपुर जिलों के कुछ निचले इलाकों में अभी भी असर है, और कई गाँव अभी भी कटे हुए हैं।
