India Mandates Caller Name Display For All Unknown Calls

Starting, all smartphone users in India will see the real name of the caller on their display, even for unknown numbers. This new Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) rule, tested for months, aims to curb cyber fraud. Telecom regulator TRAI has ordered companies to implement this feature, which will be enabled by default.

अब भारत में सभी स्मार्टफोन यूजर्स को अनजान नंबरों से आने वाली कॉल्स पर भी कॉलर का असली नाम डिस्प्ले पर दिखाई देगा। यह नई कॉलिंग नेम प्रेजेंटेशन (CNAP) रूल, जिसका कई महीनों से टेस्ट चल रहा था, साइबर फ्रॉड को रोकने के लिए है। टेलीकॉम रेगुलेटर TRAI ने कंपनियों को यह फीचर लागू करने का आदेश दिया है, जो डिफॉल्ट रूप से इनेबल होगा।
