They were detained by Delhi Police on Friday, October 16, 2026, while en route to a protest in Connaught Place. He urged the Union government to stop suppressing peaceful protests, stating that attempts to crush the movement will only strengthen it. DMK अध्यक्ष एम.के. स्टालिन ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के नेता अभिजीत दिपके और AISA प्रमुख नेहा बोरा की तत्काल रिहाई की मांग की है। दिल्ली पुलिस ने शुक्रवार, 16 अक्टूबर 2026 को उन्हें कनॉट प्लेस में एक विरोध प्रदर्शन के रास्ते में हिरासत में लिया था। स्टालिन ने उनके ठिकाने का खुलासा किए बिना हिरासत में रखने को अवैध और अमानवीय बताया। उन्होंने केंद्र सरकार से शांतिपूर्ण विरोध प्रदर्शनों को दबाना बंद करने का आग्रह किया, यह कहते हुए कि आंदोलन को कुचलने के प्रयास केवल इसे मजबूत करेंगे। DMK नेता ने केंद्र की BJP सरकार के कार्यों की भी आलोचना की।
