अमेरिका में भारत के राजदूत ने कहा है कि FCRA के ज़रिए विदेशी चंदे को रेगुलेट करना भारत का अपना फैसला है। उन्होंने कहा कि अमेरिका में भी ऐसे ही कानून हैं। यह बात तब आई जब एक अमेरिकी सांसद ने चिंता जताई थी कि FCRA में बदलाव से भारत सरकार चर्चों और चैरिटी पर कंट्रोल कर सकती है। राजदूत ने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि देश के हित में ऐसे नियम बनाने का भारत को पूरा अधिकार है।
