Organised Crime Section Added in Extortion Case Linked to Chhota Rajan Gang

Mumbai Police's Anti-Extortion Cell has invoked the new BNS section 111, dealing with organised crime, against five individuals arrested for attempting to extort Rs 11 crore from a developer. The section was added after it was revealed that two accused, Rajwinder Singh and Remi Fernandes, are habitual offenders linked to the Chhota Rajan gang. The police are also considering invoking the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against them.

मुंबई पुलिस की एंटी-एक्सटॉर्शन सेल ने एक डेवलपर से 11 करोड़ रुपये की फिरौती मांगने की कोशिश के आरोप में गिरफ्तार पांच लोगों के खिलाफ संगठित अपराध से संबंधित नई BNS धारा 111 लगाई है। यह धारा तब जोड़ी गई जब पता चला कि दो आरोपी, राजविंदर सिंह और रेमी फर्नांडिस, छोटा राजन गैंग से जुड़े आदतन अपराधी हैं। पुलिस उनके खिलाफ महाराष्ट्र संगठित गुंडा नियंत्रण अधिनियम (MCOCA) लगाने पर भी विचार कर रही है।
