सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त और अन्य चुनाव आयुक्तों की नियुक्ति से जुड़े 2023 के कानून को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका को संविधान पीठ को भेज दिया है। दो जजों की बेंच की राय अलग-अलग थी कि क्या याचिकाओं को बड़ी बेंच को भेजा जाना चाहिए। याचिकाकर्ताओं का कहना है कि चयन समिति से भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश को हटाने से सुप्रीम कोर्ट के 2023 के फैसले का महत्व कम हो जाता है।
