MHA Seeks Draft Governance Proposal From Ladakh Bodies

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked Ladakh outfits to submit a draft proposal addressing seven questions on the Union territory's future governance structure. Discussions involve the division of powers between a proposed UT-level body and district councils, with a consensus emerging in favour of direct elections for both. The MHA presented a three-tier structure, and representatives were asked for suggestions on the UT-level body's name and executive arm.

गृह मंत्रालय (MHA) ने लद्दाख के संगठनों से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के भविष्य के शासन ढांचे पर सात सवालों के जवाब में एक प्रस्ताव देने को कहा है। इसमें प्रस्तावित यूटी-स्तरीय निकाय और जिला परिषदों के बीच शक्तियों के बंटवारे पर चर्चा शामिल है। दोनों के लिए सीधे चुनाव कराने पर सहमति बन रही है। MHA ने तीन-स्तरीय ढांचे का प्रस्ताव दिया और यूटी-स्तरीय निकाय के नाम व कार्यकारी शाखा पर सुझाव मांगे गए।
