Kerala CM Defends Police Inquiry Into Payoff Case

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan stated that a police inquiry into the CMRL-Exalogic payoff controversy is not intended to target or seek revenge. The government ordered the inquiry after legal scrutiny and advice from the Advocate General and Director General of Prosecution, following information from the Enforcement Directorate. The ED had previously sent a report seeking prosecution of former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena, and son-in-law P.A. Mohamed Riyas.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री वी.डी. सतीसन ने कहा है कि CMRL-Exalogic भुगतान विवाद की पुलिस जांच का मकसद किसी को निशाना बनाना या बदला लेना नहीं है। सरकार ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) से मिली जानकारी के बाद, कानूनी सलाह और एडवोकेट जनरल व डायरेक्टर जनरल ऑफ प्रॉसिक्यूशन की राय पर यह जांच का आदेश दिया है। ED ने पहले पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री पिनराई विजयन, उनकी बेटी टी. वीणा और दामाद पी.ए. मोहम्मद रियास के खिलाफ मुकदमा चलाने की रिपोर्ट मांगी थी।
