Economic Times · stocks
Indian equity benchmarks closed lower on Wednesday, impacted by a sell-off in IT stocks and rising crude oil prices, alongside caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy decision. The Sensex fell 352.6 points to 73,246, while the Nifty declined 50.90 points to 22,699. Brent crude prices climbed to $114.50 a barrel following an attack on a Saudi Arabian refinery, raising inflation concerns. Despite intraday losses, auto and select banking stocks helped indices recover significantly.
