गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने शराब ले जाने के आरोप में इस्तेमाल किए गए वाहन को जब्त करने के जिला पुलिस अधीक्षक के आदेश पर रोक लगा दी है। अदालत ने सवाल उठाया कि क्या पुलिस किसी लंबित आपराधिक मुकदमे के दौरान न्यायिक आदेश के बिना स्थायी रूप से वाहन जब्त कर सकती है, जैसा कि संशोधित निषेध कानून में अनिवार्य है। वाहन मालिक ने ज़ब्ती को चुनौती दी, यह तर्क देते हुए कि अदालत के फैसले के बिना ज़ब्ती का आदेश देने के लिए डीएसपी के पास अधिकार नहीं था।
