Australia Tightens Student Visa Rules For Families

Australia is implementing new migration rules, preventing most international students and Temporary Graduate visa holders from bringing partners or children. Announced by Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, these changes aim to increase migration control and reduce net overseas migration. While families already in Australia are exempt, students from Pacific and ASEAN countries, and those pursuing PhDs, will have special arrangements. Indian students, who form a significant portion of international students, are not included in these exemptions and must plan accordingly.
