Cabinet Approves Apex Body ITLA For Integrated Transport & Logistics Network

The Union Cabinet has approved the formation of the Integrated Transport & Logistics Authority (ITLA) as the apex body for planning and monitoring transport projects. ITLA will prepare a long-term National Transport Master Plan, spanning 10 years or more, covering roads, railways, ports, aviation, and urban mobility. It will also technically appraise government infrastructure projects exceeding ₹500 crore and monitor their implementation. The authority aims to build a National Transport Data Repository by integrating various existing databases. This initiative seeks to create a more coordinated and multi-modal transport system.

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने योजना बनाने और परिवहन परियोजनाओं की निगरानी के लिए शीर्ष निकाय के रूप में एकीकृत परिवहन और लॉजिस्टिक्स प्राधिकरण (ITLA) के गठन को मंजूरी दे दी है। ITLA 10 साल या उससे अधिक समय तक चलने वाली एक दीर्घकालिक राष्ट्रीय परिवहन मास्टर प्लान तैयार करेगा, जिसमें सड़कें, रेलवे, बंदरगाह, विमानन और शहरी गतिशीलता शामिल होगी। यह ₹500 करोड़ से अधिक की सरकारी बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं का तकनीकी मूल्यांकन भी करेगा और उनके कार्यान्वयन की निगरानी करेगा। प्राधिकरण का लक्ष्य विभिन्न मौजूदा डेटाबेस को एकीकृत करके एक राष्ट्रीय परिवहन डेटा रिपॉजिटरी का निर्माण करना है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य एक अधिक समन्वित और मल्टी-मोडल परिवहन प्रणाली बनाना है।
