The Delhi Police have announced that Jantar Mantar is no longer a designated protest site, effective October 12, 2026. This decision follows recommendations from a Ministry of Home Affairs committee that examined alternative locations for demonstrations. The Ramlila Ground, Burari Ground, and CBD Ground in East Delhi have been designated as the new official venues for protests and demonstrations. The police stated that detailed Standard Operating Procedures for these new sites will be issued separately, modifying previous standing orders.
