NIA Court Acquits Two Pulwama Men in 2021 Srinagar Grenade Blast Case

A special NIA court in Kashmir has acquitted two men from Pulwama, Adil Farooq Bhat and Imran Nazir Najar, who were arrested in connection with a grenade attack in Srinagar in August 2021. The court cited a failure by the prosecution to establish their involvement beyond reasonable doubt. Judge Manjeet Rai ordered their immediate release, provided they are not required in other cases. The court also criticised investigation lapses, including gaps in evidence collection and presentation, which prevented it from establishing guilt.

कश्मीर की एक विशेष एनआईए अदालत ने पुलवामा के दो लोगों, आदिल फारूक भट और इमरान नज़ीर नज़ार को अगस्त 2021 में श्रीनगर में हुए ग्रेनेड हमले के संबंध में गिरफ्तार किया गया था। अदालत ने अभियोजन पक्ष द्वारा उनके शामिल होने को उचित संदेह से परे स्थापित करने में विफलता का हवाला दिया। जज मनजीत राय ने तत्काल रिहाई का आदेश दिया, बशर्ते कि वे अन्य मामलों में आवश्यक न हों। अदालत ने जांच में खामियों की भी आलोचना की, जिसमें सबूत इकट्ठा करने और पेश करने में कमी शामिल थी, जिससे यह अपराध स्थापित नहीं हो सका।
