शरदीय नवरात्रि उत्सव के दौरान बिहार के विभिन्न जिलों में दुखद रूप से 16 लोगों की मौत हो गई। पीड़ितों की मौत कलश स्थापना और जुलूस के लिए पानी इकट्ठा करते समय नदियों और तालाबों में डूबने से हुई। इसका मुख्य कारण बाढ़ के कारण नदियों और तालाबों में बढ़े हुए जल स्तर को बताया जा रहा है, जिससे लोगों के लिए गहराई का अंदाजा लगाना मुश्किल हो गया है। इस विनाशकारी नुकसान ने पूरे राज्य में शोक की लहर दौड़ा दी है, जिसमें मुजफ्फरपुर, दरभंगा और सीतामढ़ी जिलों में सबसे अधिक मौतें दर्ज की गई हैं।
