AIIMS Patna has successfully performed its first kidney transplant under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, making the costly procedure accessible to economically weaker patients. A 31-year-old man received a kidney from his wife, and both were discharged after the successful operation. This marks the institute's 15th kidney transplant overall and the first covered by the government health initiative, which costs approximately Rs 3 lakh. The scheme also covers essential post-operative medicines and treatment for complications, ensuring continued care during recovery.

AIIMS पटना ने आयुष्मान भारत योजना के तहत अपना पहला किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट सफलतापूर्वक किया है, जिससे यह महंगी प्रक्रिया आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर मरीजों के लिए सुलभ हो गई है। 31 वर्षीय व्यक्ति को उसकी पत्नी से किडनी मिली, और सफल ऑपरेशन के बाद दोनों को छुट्टी दे दी गई। यह संस्थान का कुल 15वां किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट है और सरकारी स्वास्थ्य पहल द्वारा कवर किया गया पहला ट्रांसप्लांट है, जिसकी लागत लगभग 3 लाख रुपये है। यह योजना रिकवरी के दौरान निरंतर देखभाल सुनिश्चित करते हुए, आवश्यक पोस्ट-ऑपरेटिव दवाओं और जटिलताओं के इलाज को भी कवर करती है।
