Central TN Districts Receive Normal Rainfall Amidst Northeast Monsoon

Nine central Tamil Nadu districts have recorded normal rainfall between and 25, thanks to the ongoing northeast monsoon. Three districts, including Trichy, experienced excess rainfall, while Thanjavur and Mayiladuthurai are awaiting more rain to replenish groundwater for paddy crops. Inundation of samba paddy crops in Cauvery delta districts is minimal, with water receding quickly and drain channels managing surplus flow. Farmers are relying on the monsoon to support standing crops, especially as Mettur dam levels are low.
