Son of Army Colonel Appointed Punjab's New DGP

Gaurav Yadav, a 1992-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the permanent DGP for Punjab, ending a four-year period of uncertainty. He had been serving as the acting DGP since July 2022. Yadav, whose father was an Army Colonel and whose father-in-law was also a DGP, hails from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. His appointment follows clear directives from the Punjab and Haryana High Court to appoint a permanent DGP. This move is expected to bring stability to the police department and facilitate policy decisions.

1992 बैच के IPS अधिकारी गौरव यादव को पंजाब का स्थायी डीजीपी नियुक्त किया गया है। इससे चार साल से चल रही अनिश्चितता खत्म हो गई है। वह जुलाई 2022 से एक्टिंग डीजीपी का काम देख रहे थे। यादव, जिनके पिता सेना में कर्नल थे और ससुर भी डीजीपी रह चुके हैं, जौनपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश के रहने वाले हैं। पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट के स्थायी डीजीपी नियुक्त करने के स्पष्ट निर्देशों के बाद यह नियुक्ति हुई है। इस कदम से पुलिस विभाग में स्थिरता आने और नीतिगत फैसलों में आसानी होने की उम्मीद है।
