The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to investigate allegations of irregularities concerning bulk submissions of Form 7 applications during Uttar Pradesh's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Petitioners, including Congress MP Tanuj Punia, flagged concerns about potential targeting of specific communities through these applications. The EC acknowledged receiving bulk applications but stated no action was taken on false ones. The court has asked the EC to examine the factual aspects, take corrective steps, and submit a compliance report.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग को उत्तर प्रदेश के चुनावी रोल के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन के दौरान फॉर्म 7 के बल्क सबमिशन से जुड़ी अनियमितताओं के आरोपों की जांच करने का निर्देश दिया है। याचिकाकर्ताओं, जिनमें कांग्रेस सांसद तनुज पुनिया भी शामिल हैं, ने इन आवेदनों के माध्यम से विशिष्ट समुदायों को लक्षित करने की संभावित चिंताओं को उठाया। EC ने बल्क आवेदन मिलने की बात स्वीकार की लेकिन कहा कि झूठे आवेदनों पर कोई कार्रवाई नहीं की गई। कोर्ट ने EC से तथ्यात्मक पहलुओं की जांच करने, सुधारात्मक कदम उठाने और अनुपालन रिपोर्ट जमा करने को कहा है।
