Authorities had safely evacuated the baba from his hut earlier in the day, averting a potential tragedy. The incident highlights the dangers posed by the river's continuous erosion, which had weakened the hut's foundation over several years. While the baba lost his long-time dwelling, no human lives were lost due to the timely intervention.

प्रयागराज में गंगा नदी के बीचों-बीच मचान पर बनी 'मचान वाले बाबा' यानी बजरंगदास की झोपड़ी तेज कटाव के कारण बह गई। गनीमत रही कि अधिकारियों ने बाबा को दिन में ही सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया था, जिससे एक बड़ी अनहोनी टल गई। यह घटना कई सालों से नदी के लगातार हो रहे कटाव के कारण झोपड़ी की नींव कमजोर होने के खतरे को दर्शाती है। हालांकि बाबा ने अपना सालों पुराना आशियाना खो दिया, लेकिन समय रहते हुई कार्रवाई से किसी की जान नहीं गई।
