The Thiruvananthapuram Corporation has initiated a project to remove unscientific overhead cables and telephone/internet wires following a council resolution. This move comes after previous instances where such cables caused accidents and loss of life. The civic body plans to remove untagged cables and clean up others using machines, seeking compensation from utility providers. The project will be implemented across 101 wards, with the first phase covering five specific wards. This initiative has previously been successfully completed in Varanasi and Mumbai.

तिरुवनंतपुरम कॉर्पोरेशन ने एक परिषद प्रस्ताव के बाद अवैज्ञानिक ओवरहेड केबल और टेलीफोन/इंटरनेट तारों को हटाने की परियोजना शुरू की है। यह कदम ऐसे केबलों के कारण पहले हुई दुर्घटनाओं और जानमाल के नुकसान की घटनाओं के बाद उठाया गया है। नागरिक निकाय बिना टैग वाली केबलों को हटाने और मशीनों का उपयोग करके अन्य केबलों को साफ करने की योजना बना रहा है, और उपयोगिता प्रदाताओं से मुआवजा मांगेगा। यह परियोजना 101 वार्डों में लागू की जाएगी, जिसमें पहला चरण पांच विशिष्ट वार्डों को कवर करेगा। यह पहल पहले वाराणसी और मुंबई में सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की जा चुकी है।
