Indian Stocks Plunge Amid Rising Oil Prices

Indian stock markets experienced a significant downturn on Monday, with the Sensex and Nifty falling by up to 1.6%. Soaring oil prices and bond yields, exacerbated by the escalating Iran-US conflict, spooked investors. The Sensex dropped over 1,124 points to close below 72,772, while the Nifty 50 declined more than 360 points, ending near 22,780. This sharp sell-off resulted in a loss of nearly Rs 8 lakh crore from the total market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies.

सोमवार को भारतीय शेयर बाजारों में भारी गिरावट आई, जिसमें Sensex और Nifty 1.6% तक गिर गए। बढ़ते तेल की कीमतों और बॉन्ड यील्ड ने, जो ईरान-अमेरिका संघर्ष के बढ़ने से और बढ़ गए थे, निवेशकों को डरा दिया। Sensex 1,124 अंकों से अधिक गिरकर 72,772 से नीचे बंद हुआ, जबकि Nifty 50, 360 अंकों से अधिक गिरकर 22,780 के करीब बंद हुआ। इस तेज बिकवाली के कारण BSE-सूचीबद्ध कंपनियों की कुल बाजार पूंजीकरण में लगभग 8 लाख करोड़ रुपये का नुकसान हुआ।
