South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix is reportedly considering a special dividend of approximately 16 trillion won ($12 billion), funded by gains from its stake sale in Kioxia. The company announced it would reveal shareholder return measures alongside its third-quarter earnings on Wednesday. This move comes amid increasing investor pressure for higher payouts from semiconductor firms benefiting from the AI chip boom. SK Hynix previously announced plans for share buybacks and a significant portion of free cash flow allocation for shareholder returns between 2025 and 2027.
