Kolkata Roads Named After Marx, Lenin May Change

West Bengal's BJP government is considering renaming roads in Kolkata, including those named after communist leaders Vladimir Lenin, Karl Marx, and Ho Chi Minh. A 10-member committee, headed by Kartik Maharaj, will discuss proposals after Durga Puja. Suggestions include renaming Karl Marx Sarani after Bengali poets and Lenin Sarani after Debaprasad Ghosh. The committee's recommendations will be sent to the state Assembly for final decision by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

पश्चिम बंगाल की बीजेपी सरकार कोलकाता की सड़कों का नाम बदलने पर विचार कर रही है। इसमें व्लादिमीर लेनिन, कार्ल मार्क्स और हो ची मिन्ह जैसे कम्युनिस्ट नेताओं के नाम वाली सड़कें भी शामिल हैं। दुर्गा पूजा के बाद कार्तिक महाराज की अध्यक्षता वाली 10 सदस्यीय समिति इस पर चर्चा करेगी। सुझावों में कार्ल मार्क्स सारणी का नाम बदलकर बंगाली कवियों के नाम पर और लेनिन सारणी का नाम देबाप्रसाद घोष के नाम पर रखना शामिल है।
