Sathram Residents Oppose Relocation of Pilgrim Facilities Ahead of Sabarimala Season
The Hindu · india
Local residents and temple authorities in Sathram are protesting the district administration's decision to move essential pilgrim facilities, including vehicle parking and token distribution, from Sathram to Vallakadavu/Walardie. They argue that Sathram is the traditional entry point for pilgrims using the forest trekking route to Sabarimala, and shifting facilities disrupts established practices. Residents point out that the Travancore Devaswom Board owns sufficient land in Sathram that could be developed for pilgrim amenities.
