Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nand has imposed prohibitory orders in parts of Bowbazar for three days, from October 18 to 20, following a stampede at a Durga Puja pandal that killed 19 people and injured 25. The restrictions prohibit the assembly of five or more people and carrying dangerous weapons to prevent a breach of peace. The tragedy occurred during Maha Saptami celebrations at the Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal due to a sudden rush amid heavy rain.

कोलकाता पुलिस कमिश्नर अजय नंद ने दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में भगदड़ से 19 लोगों की मौत और 25 के घायल होने के बाद 18 से 20 अक्टूबर तक तीन दिनों के लिए बोउबाजार के कुछ हिस्सों में निषेधाज्ञा लागू कर दी है। इन प्रतिबंधों में शांति भंग को रोकने के लिए पांच या अधिक लोगों के इकट्ठा होने और खतरनाक हथियार ले जाने पर रोक शामिल है। यह त्रासदी भारी बारिश के बीच अचानक भीड़ के कारण चोरबागन सर्वजनिन दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में महा सप्तमी उत्सव के दौरान हुई।
