The Hindu · india

Supreme Court judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan stated that any process disenfranchising millions and turning them into second-class citizens is arbitrary and violates universal adult suffrage and the right to equality. Speaking at NALSAR, Hyderabad, he emphasized that excluding voters en masse from electoral rolls is fatal to the Constitution. His remarks come amid student protests concerning the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision, which has led to the deletion of approximately 13.3 crore voters.
