Iran's foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has refuted claims that two Iranian diplomats were expelled from the United States after the UN General Assembly. He stated on X that all members of Tehran's delegation departed the country as scheduled, calling the expulsion reports fake and a sign of desperation. The reports, originating from Axios, alleged the diplomats remained in New York despite a US State Department order to leave. Araghchi criticized celebrating such alleged expulsions, deeming it inconsistent with UN host nation obligations.
