BJP Allies Express Caution on UCC Implementation

Three BJP allies have voiced caution regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's claim that 21 NDA-governed states will implement the Uniform Civil Code by 2029. The Telugu Desam Party stated they would consult stakeholders if the need arises. The JD(U) plans to discuss the matter with Shah, recalling their chief's emphasis on consensus. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) stressed considering constitutional exemptions for tribal communities and comprehensive consultation before taking a stand.
