BBC Hindi · politics

Bihar's controversial MLA Anant Singh has been expelled from Nitish Kumar's JD(U) party for six years due to anti-party activities. His wife, Neelam Devi, has also been removed from the party. The JD(U) has recommended the termination of Singh's assembly membership. This action follows Singh's campaigning for an opposition candidate in the Bihar Legislative Council elections, despite the party fielding its own candidate, Neeraj Kumar, for the Patna Graduate constituency. Singh had previously defeated Neeraj Kumar in 2015.
