In the biennial Maharashtra Legislative Council elections for 28 seats across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, the Congress secured only one seat. This solitary victory came from the Nagpur Graduates constituency, where the party managed to retain its seat, narrowly avoiding a complete washout. Despite this win, the party's performance was considered very poor, with a win percentage of just 3.57%. Regional allies of Congress performed better, highlighting the party's limited influence in the opposition bloc.
