The Kozhikode Corporation Council has again approved a resolution to demolish the existing Central Fish Market building for redevelopment. A similar decision made on July 15, 2025, was not communicated to the State government, whose approval is required as the building is not considered dilapidated. The resolution was re-passed in a special meeting, with officials clarifying the building's estimated lifespan and the urgency to secure a ₹55.17-crore fund. The Mayor confirmed no court stay is in force and that traders with rent arrears will be considered for rehabilitation.

कोझिकोड कॉर्पोरेशन काउंसिल ने पुनर्विकास के लिए मौजूदा सेंट्रल फिश मार्केट बिल्डिंग को गिराने के प्रस्ताव को फिर से मंजूरी दे दी है। 15 जुलाई, 2025 को लिया गया ऐसा ही एक फैसला राज्य सरकार को नहीं बताया गया था, जिसकी मंजूरी ज़रूरी है क्योंकि इमारत को जर्जर नहीं माना जाता है। इमारत की अनुमानित जीवन अवधि और ₹55.17 करोड़ का फंड सुरक्षित करने की तात्कालिकता को स्पष्ट करते हुए अधिकारियों ने एक विशेष बैठक में प्रस्ताव को फिर से पारित किया। मेयर ने पुष्टि की कि कोई कोर्ट स्टे लागू नहीं है और किराए के बकाए वाले व्यापारियों पर पुनर्वास के लिए विचार किया जाएगा।
